Best Warzone loadout drop: the top class setups for Season One

Best Warzone loadout drop: the top class setups for Season One

Looking for the best Warzone loadout to secure the win in Call of Duty’s battle royale? Warzone has been out for a while, and it’s clear that the best way to secure a win is to create a custom Warzone loadout drop and grab it in-match via the Warzone Buy Stations and regular drops.

In case you’re new to Call of Duty: Warzone and are just getting to grips with some of its curious additions – like the Gulag respawn mechanic – then loadout drops are a way of using your create-a-class setups from multiplayer in Warzone. Purchasing one of these will let you drop in your very own custom loadout almost instantaneously, meaning you can go from having a couple of common rarity weapons and some tactical gear to boasting two custom primary weapons of your choice, your favourite equipment, and even perks.

However, weapon balancing is very different in Warzone than it is in multiplayer, and your choice of perks, gadgets, and primaries will not translate perfectly to Warzone’s demands. We’ve earned plenty of wins and are pretty confident that we have the best loadout for Warzone to help you secure your first W, no matter how you prefer to play.

Season One is here, and all the Cold War weapons have arrived in Warzone. They’re all slightly different to how they appeared in Cold War, too, so we’re still trying to figure out how they will fit in. In the meantime, however, we still recommend the below Warzone loadouts – and we’ll let you know when the new contenders for best Warzone loadout emerge.

Best Warzone loadout

Here are the best Warzone loadout drops from the best Warzone guns and attachments, to equipment and perks:

  • Kar98k & Ram-7
  • DMR 14 & Diamatti
  • Krig 6 & Mac-10
  • AS VAL & SP-R 208
  • Kilo 141 & Origin 12
  • Jak-12 & CR-56 AMAX
  • Bruen & MP5
  • Grau 5.56 & MP5
  • AX-50 & MP7
  • M4A1 & HDR
  • M13 & Kar98k
  • Oden & Kar98k
  • SKS & Renetti
  • M4A1 & RPG-7

Kar98k and Ram-7 warzone loadout drop

RAM-7

In a meta currently dominated by sniper rifles, the best Ram-7 loadout is an excellent assault rifle to take with you alongside the Kar98k. Our loadout for the Ram-7 makes the recoil a little bit easier to manage, in addition to increasing the size of the magazines. This weapon already had a fast TTK – by adding more bullets to magazine, you should be able to take down a few enemies without needing to reload.

  • Monolithic Suppressor
  • 50-Round Mags
  • Stippled Grip Tape
  • Cronen LP945 Mini Reflex
  • FSS Ranger

KAR98K

Arguably the best sniper rifle in Warzone, the Kar98k is a staple of the battle royale game thanks to its quick aim down sights time and high bullet velocity.

  • Sniper Scope
  • Tac Laser
  • Singuard Custom 27.6″
  • FTAC Sport Comb
  • Stippled Grip Tape

Perks

Equipment

As Warzone Season 1 draws to a close, we’ve seen the meta completely shift from being SMG dominated to focusing more on long ranged weapons. Up until the DMR14 was nerfed, tactical rifles were the go-to pick before being pushed aside by the reliable sniper rifles like the Kar98k.  The combination of the Ram-7 and Kar98k is similar to the DMR-14 and Diamatti setup – using each of these weapons allows you to dominate at both short and long distances.

Call of Duty Warzone DMR 14 semi-automatic tactical rifle

DMR 14 AND DIAMATTI WARZONE LOADOUT DROP

DMR 14

The DMR 14’s incredible damage output, coupled with the low amounts of recoil make it a dangerous weapon in the right hands. Avoid close range fights and instead stick to picking off enemies from medium to long distances. By selecting the correct attachments to reduce recoil and increase the weapon’s rate of fire, the DMR 14 can become a nightmare to deal with.

  • 16.3” Titanium Barrel
  • Agency Silencer
  • Field Agent Foregrip
  • Jungle-Style Mag
  • Axial Arms 3x

Diamatti

The akimbo Diamatti pistols are perfect for close range combat as they can wipe out enemies in less than two seconds. A nice bonus of using the Diamatti pistols is that you can keep the Ghost perk instead of having to switch it out for Overkill. With the Diamatti pistols equipped, you should be able to compete against enemies wielding SMGs and assault rifles.

  • SOCOM Eliminator
  • 6.5” Takedown
  • SWAT 5mw Laser Sight
  • Salvo 30 Rnd Fast Mag
  • Dual Wield

PERKS

EQUIPMENT

Warzone Season 1 has introduced a number of powerful loadouts to try out, but the DMR 14 and Diamatti combo may be the best of the bunch. There is currently no better weapon to use than the DMR 14 at medium to long distances, making it perfect to use on Verdansk. When your fights start to get up close and personal, simply switch to the akimbo Diamatti pistols to wreak havoc on groups of enemies. If you’d rather have your tactical rifle behave closer to an assault rifle, check out the best DMR 14 loadout instead.

Call of Duty Warzone Krig 6

KRIG 6 AND MAC-10 WARZONE LOADOUT DROP

Krig 6

Despite facing nerfs early in Season 1, the Krig 6 remains one of the most powerful assault rifles in the game. If you’re looking for an accurate weapon with very little recoil, it’s a struggle to find anything better than the Krig 6. Choosing the correct attachments will provide the Krig 6 with a big damage boost, allowing you to pick off enemies from a distance. This does compromise your mobility, but the secondary weapon makes up for that.

  • Agency Suppressor
  • 19.7” Ranger
  • Axial Arms 3x
  • Field Agent Grip
  • Salvo 60 Rnd Fast Mag

Mac-10

Though the Krig 6 is more than capable of taking out nearby enemies, if you run into a squad you’ll need a backup secondary weapon. The Mac-10 is easily one of the best SMGs in Warzone thanks to its incredible rate of fire. Unlike the best Warzone Mac-10 loadout, this build focuses on the Mac-10 being a useful secondary weapon when you need to break it out in a pinch.

  • SOCOM Eliminator
  • 6.5” Takedown
  • SWAT 5mw Laser Sight
  • Salvo 30 Rnd Fast Mag
  • Dual Wield

PERKS

  • Cold-Blooded
  • Overkill
  • Tracker

EQUIPMENT

Another lethal combination of weapons introduced in Warzone Season 1, the Krig 6 and Mac-10 loadout gives you the tools to shred through enemies. You may have some trouble taking on enemies from a distance, however, this loadout specialises in close quarters combat, so try to play to its strengths. Stick to buildings as much as possible and avoid heading off into open spaces unless you have a vehicle.

Best Warzone loadout drop Season 6

AS VAL and SP-R 208 WARZONE LOADOUT DROP

AS VAL

A terrifyingly powerful close and mid-range assault rifle, the AS VAL marries precision, rate of fire, and damage to create one of the most lethal primary weapons in the game Our build leans into the close-quarters strengths of this Warzone assault rifle.

  • Merc Foregrip
  • 5mW Laser
  • VLK 105mm Sova
  • 30 round mags
  • G.I. Mini Reflex

SP-R 208

Once you have this one up and running, you’ll have a powerful marksman rifle that can still tag opponents at long range.

  • XRK 208 Dragoon
  • VLK 3.0x Optic
  • Tac Laser
  • XRK SP-LITE 208 Blitz
  • .338 Lapua Mag 5-R Mags

PERKS

  • Cold-Blooded
  • Overkill
  • Tracker

EQUIPMENT

These Warzone Season 6 goodies make a surprisingly good pairing, with the AS VAL offering frightening power up close with some flexibility for mid-range combat, and the SP-R 208 dishing out plenty of damage for longer range engagements. This isn’t the best Warzone loadout for extreme distances, but as most fights in Warzone happen in mid-range, you’ll find both of these weapons more than capable of getting the job done.

There are a couple of tweaks you can make, for example making the AS VAL by ditching the optic for a more mobile stock. Or you can follow our top Warzone AS VAL loadout and extend the range a little more. Likewise, you can turn the SP-R 208 into a proper sniper rifle by following our Warzone SP-R 208 loadout. We’ve kept to the classic Warzone perks and equipment for this setup, too.

Best Warzone loadout - Kilo 141 and Origin 12

Kilo 141 and Origin 12 Warzone loadout

Kilo 141

There’s nothing exceptional about our Warzone Kilo 141 loadout, but its ability to get the job done in practically any situation makes it one of the most reliable weapons in the game. Good damage, rate of fire, range, mobility, and recoil, but not world-beating in any one circumstance. Our build is pretty typical for a Warzone assault rifle, and boosts the range, magazine size, and accuracy to ensure you can use this in plenty of long-distance battles.

  • Monolithic Suppressor
  • Singuard Arms 19.8″ Prowler
  • VLK 3.0x Optic
  • 50 Round Mags
  • Commando Foregrip

Origin 12

This shotgun has recently entered the close-quarters meta in a big way and is now the strongest option for clearing rooms, especially in trio or squad games. Our best Warzone Origin 12 loadout straps on plenty of ranged damage and accuracy, not to mention better hipfire, so you can march in spamming LMB and march out victorious.

  • Choke
  • Forge Tac Impaler
  • 5mW Laser
  • 12 Round Mags
  • No Stock

To round the build out you’ll need C4 and a Heartbeat Sensor, which is still the unbeatable equipment combination for Warzone. As for perks, we believe Tracker, Overkill (which you’ll swap out for Ghost when you grab your second loadout), and Cold-Blooded should be your picks. Tracker compliments the Origin 12 wonderfully now, while Cold-Blooded no longer triggers High Alert making life out in the open a little safer.

Jak-12 and CR-56 AMAX Warzone loadout

Jak-12

This is all about being able to walk into a building, hold the trigger down, and march out unscathed. We’ve gone for the biggest drum mag, plenty of damage range, and a tighter pellet spread to ensure your DPS output is extremely high. In addition, we’ve tried to keep the Jak-12 relatively light and mobile.

  • 5mW Laser
  • 32 Round Drum Mags
  • FORGE TAC Marauder
  • JAK Urban King
  • Merc Foregrip

CR-56 AMAX

This assault rifle has taken a while to become popular because of its significant recoil, but if you can get used to it then you’ll find this to be one of the best damage-dealers for mid-range fights.

  • Monolithic Suppressor
  • XRK Zodiac S440
  • VLK 3.0x Optic
  • Ranger Foregrip
  • 45 Round Mags

This loadout takes the deadly new full-auto shotgun and pairs it with one of the best medium distance weapons you can find. For your perks you’ll want Overkill (which you’ll swap out for Ghost when you find your second loadout), Amped, and Cold-Blooded. Heartbeat Sensor and C4 is still the way to go, although you may decide stuns are more valuable to use alongside the Jak-12. In any case, here is our best Warzone Jak-12 loadout for a number of different combat scenarios.

Warzone Bruen MK9 class

Bruen and MP5 Warzone loadout

Bruen MK9

This was once the best Warzone LMG, but is no longer among the top five armaments you can pick following a string of nerfs. With that caveat out of the way, there is still plenty to love about the Bruen, such as its great DPS and its effectiveness at extremely long ranges. With the right attachments it even behaves more like an assault rifle, so no arduous aim down sight times or reload animations.

  • Monolithic Suppressor
  • Tac Laser
  • 60 Round Mags
  • XRK Horizon 23.0″
  • VLK 3.0x Optic

MP5

You’ll see this loadout mentioned again and again, but that’s because this MP5 is still arguably the best close-quarters option in the game, capable of taking down any threat in a blink of an eye. A recent nerf to ‘no stock’ attachments means we’re now opting for faster aim down sight speeds via the rear grip option.

  • Monolithic Integral Suppressor
  • Tac Laser
  • 45 Round Mags
  • Merc Foregrip
  • Stippled Grip Tape

Perks

Equipment

This is pretty much our default equipment and perk setup, but it’s always worth mentioning that you should have a Ghost class ready to change to as soon as you can grab your second loadout. We have Amped selected here instead of Tracker as swapping to and from an LMG can take a long time and this can genuinely save you in tense situations.

There are some optional attachments for both weapon builds. The Bruen is pretty super with any attachment, and while we find the VLK 3.0x Optic covers mid-range, we also recommend a closer range optic like a holo. As for the MP5, reload speed can be an issue, especially if you’ve only got 45 rounds in a mag, so it’s sometimes worth swapping out the Stippled Grip Tape or Tac Laser for Sleight of Hand.

Warzone loadout MP5 setup

Grau Warzone loadout

Grau 5.56

The Grau 5.56 may not be one of the best assault rifles for Warzone in terms of raw time to kill stats, but the Grau is still very popular for its excellent iron sights, accuracy over long range, and decent damage. Our best Warzone loadout draws from our Grau Warzone class setup, but pairs it with a close range weapon so you’re equipped to deal with any situation.

  • Monolithic Suppressor
  • Tempus 26.4″ Archangel
  • Commando Foregrip
  • 60 Round Mags
  • Tac Laser

MP5

As for the secondary weapon, you really can’t do better than this MP5 Warzone setup. The attachments should make this feel extra mobile for when you’re sprinting around Downtown or Hospital hunting down kills, while the SMG’s raw DPS means you’ll win any fight so long as you can land your hits.

  • Subsonic Integral Suppressor
  • Merc Foregrip
  • FTAC Collapsible
  • 45 Round Mags
  • 5mW Laser

Perks

Equipment

For your first perk we suggest is EOD, which will stop you being one-shot by an RPG and generally help you sustain explosive damage. There’s nothing worse in Warzone than running into a random mine or someone firing an RPG through your window and going down instantly.

For the second perk, we always advise making your first Warzone loadout an Overkill class with two primary weapons, then picking up a Ghost class afterwards and switching your weapons back.

The third perk is generally up to you, but we love Tracker as it’s very powerful for hunting down stragglers after a squad fight. If you generally play aggressively then this makes achieving a team wipe much faster.

As for equipment, your lethal should be C4 as it’s great for throwing through windows to deal lots of damage to campers. Your tactical should generally be the Heartbeat Sensor as it can provide life-saving intel and stop your squad losing a member to campers – just remember it doesn’t show players using Ghost.

Best Warzone loadout - ax-50

Sniper and SMG Warzone loadout drop

AX-50

In terms of attachments, you really want to gear this towards fast aim down sights times as this is the main reason to choose the AX-50 over the HDR. We’ve also included the weapon perk Fully Loaded as sniper ammo can be hard to come by if you’re stalking through woodlands.

More help? Here is the best sniper for Warzone

So why not the HDR? The HDR is best for long-range engagements as it’s bullet velocity is much faster, meaning you need to lead targets less and your shot will connect faster. If you do want a best HDR Warzone setup then check out our. However, the AX-50 has a much, much faster cycle rate and improved ADS times, making it the better option for prolonged sniper battles and aggressive players. You can swap Fully Loaded for a Monolithic Suppressor if you want to stay off enemy radars, but the plan for this setup is to play as aggressively as possible.

  • 32.0″ Factory Barrel
  • Tac Laser
  • Singuard Arms Assassin
  • Stippled Grip Tape
  • Fully Loaded

MP7

A fast-firing, laser-precise SMG for close-quarters fighting and cleaning up squads. The MP7 can also take 60 Round Mags, allowing you to just keep shooting between kills.

  • Monolithic Suppressor
  • Tac Laser
  • Merc Foregrip
  • 60 Round Mags
  • FSS Recon

Perks

  • Cold-Blooded
  • Overkill
  • Tracker

Equipment

The basic idea behind this class is to use the AX-50 for to down a player or two, then to rush in with the MP7 and clean up any stragglers. With a sniper built for shooting as quickly as possible, you’ll want to stick to mid and close-range fighting where you’ll have an advantage over most snipers. The mobility and magazine size of the MP7 makes it great for securing any gains, and perks like Tracker will ensure no enemies escape the fray.

We’ve changed this best Warzone loadout to over time so that it’s tuned perfectly for aggressive players. The combination of Heartbeat Sensor, Tracker, and C4 means you’ll have an easy time locating enemies and hunting them down without necessarily exposing yourself. We realise Ghost is an essential perk in Warzone, so make sure you grab that off a second loadout drop. It’s also worth considering having an identical loadout setup with Fully Loaded on both weapons in case you drop in late and want to be stocked up on ammo.

Check out either our other best MP7 Warzone build or our guide to the best SMG in Warzone for a different feel.

Best Warzone loadout - m4a1

AR and Sniper Warzone loadout drop

M4A1

Nifty for mid to far ranges as the Stock M16 Grenadier adds both range and damage making this a great weapon at all ranges. And with no sight, a light suppressor, and Stippled Grip Tape you’ll have some very competitive aim down sight speeds for up close encounters. We’ve got an alternative build that works very well, too, so see how you get on with our M4A1 Warzone loadout if you’re struggling with this build.

  • Tactical Suppressor
  • Stock M16 grenadier
  • Commando Foregrip
  • 60 round mags
  • Stippled Grip Tape

HDR

Once you have this one up and running, you’ll have a powerful sniper that excels in extremely long ranges.

  • Monolithic Suppressor
  • 26.9″ HDR Pro
  • Tac Laser
  • FTAC Stalker-Scout
  • Fully Loaded

PERKS

  • Cold-Blooded
  • Overkill
  • Tracker

EQUIPMENT

These three perks are quite a nifty trio to roll with as they suit most situations. Cold-Blooded makes it easier to sneak around as you’ll be undetectable by AI targeting systems and thermal optics. Overkill lets you carry two primary weapons, and Tracker allows you to follow enemy footsteps, which is great for battling in buildings. C4 is unmatched for dealing lead-off damage while rushing an enemy, and can be lobbed through windows or over walls.

You’ll want another Warzone loadout with Ghost as the second perk, so you can grab that near the endgame and avoid those UAVs, if only to swap back to these weapons. The HDR is definitely better for landing long range shots than the AX-50, and this build leans into that with the 26.9″ HDR Pro barrel, which effectively turns this into a hitscan weapon.

Yes, you may struggle a little bit in close-range fights, but the M4A1 is no joke when it comes to time-to-kill stats, so the only difficulty to overcome is mobility.

Kar98k loadout for Warzone

M13 and KAR98K WARZONE LOADOUT DROP

M13

Not only does the M13 dominate at medium range thanks to its minimal recoil and high rate of fire, but it’s also very capable of winning fights in close-quarters battles.

Best setup: Here are the best Warzone settings for PC

We really dislike the M13’s iron sights, so suggest using a basic optic like the G.I. Mini Reflex so you have a clearer view of your target.

  • Tempus Cyclone
  • G.I. Mini Reflex
  • M13 Skeleton Stock
  • Merc Foregrip
  • 60 Round Mags

KAR98K

While this marksman rifle was initially only favoured for flashy plays, it’s now being used much more in Warzone thanks to its very fast aim down sight speed. A new buff has increased the bullet velocity, too, making it much easier to land shots over long distances.

  • Sniper Scope
  • Tac Laser
  • Singuard Custom 27.6″
  • FTAC Sport Comb
  • Stippled Grip Tape

Perks

Equipment

We suggest bringing EOD, Overkill, and Amped as your perks. The first two are very meta, but Amped is important for a class where you’re likely to be swapping between your primary weapons a lot.

Equipment, as ever, should include the C4 and Heartbeat Sensor as this combination is great for intel and aggressively pushing enemies who are holding a strong position. We also have an alternative choice for the best M13 Warzone setup in our dedicated guide.

Best Warzone loadout - oden

Shroud’s Oden & Kar98k loadout

Oden

The Oden is hard to hit with and it takes some time getting used to its sluggish rate of fire, but it hits like a Mike Tyson right uppercut. There’s a nice mix of mobility and ranged effectiveness here, but with only 20 rounds in the mag you’ll need to make every shot count.

  • Oden Factory 810mm
  • GI Mini Reflex
  • Colossal Suppressor
  • Stippled Grip Tape
  • Commando Foregrip

Kar98k

The quickest bolt-action sniper rifle that’s not technically a sniper rifle. The Kar98k won’t hit quite as hard as its pals, the HDR and ARX-50, but if you can hit your headshots it’s one of the most deadly mid to long-range weapons in Warzone.

  • Singuard Custom 21.2″
  • 4.0x Flip Hybrid
  • Hollow Stock Mod
  • Rubberized Grip Tape
  • Sleight of Hand

Perks

  • Cold Blooded
  • Overkill
  • Amped

Equipment

  • Molotov Cocktail
  • Stun Grenade

If you’re going to emulate any gamer’s Warzone class then there are few better to copy than Shroud. His loadout drop differs substantially, but certainly appears to get the job done.

We’ve opted for a suitably aggressive third perk – Amped lets you swap weapons faster, which is great for aggro players. Likewise, the Molotov is great for finishing downed enemies and blocking off escape routes. Finally, if you push a lot, the stun is essential.

Best Warzone loadout - renetti

SKS and Renetti loadout

SKS

The SKS is phenomenal at breaking armour from long-range, but is just as capable at downing enemies at mid-range. It’s easy to use, has plenty of rounds in the mag, and does a lot of damage for a semi-auto rifle. Alternatively, check out our best FAL Warzone setup for a different semi-auto option.

  • Lightweight Suppressor
  • FTAC Landmark
  • VLK 3.0x Optic
  • 30 Round Mags
  • Commando Foregrip

Renetti

Pistols don’t tend to do well in Warzone because of the very long distances, they also lack the DPS output to serve as decent close-quarters guns. However, the new Renetti is arguably the most lethal close-range weapon in the game right now thanks to Akimbo and burst-fire.

  • Akimbo
  • Lightweight Trigger
  • 5mW Laser
  • 27 Round Mags
  • Mk3 Burst Mod

PERKS

EQUIPMENT

  • Molotov Cocktail
  • Stun Grenade

Season 3’s additions all rolled into one very powerful Warzone loadout. This setup will be best used by players who are highly mobile and want to keep pushing enemies no matter the situation. The clutch potential of the Akimbo Renetti Warzone build mixed with SKS’ versatility is a beautiful and distinct combo.

Best Warzone loadout - nickmercs

Nickmercs Warzone loadout

M4A1

This is accurate and has a high enough rate of fire to make its practical DPS almost unbeatable. The M4A1 used in the Nickmercs Warzone loadout has the following attachments.

  • Monolithic Suppressor
  • Stock M16 Grenadier
  • No Stock
  • 60 Round Mags
  • Ranger Foregrip

RPG-7

The RPG-7 is increasingly meta in Warzone right now as it’s a low effort armour-smasher. Point it near your enemy, pull the trigger, then rush them as they’re repairing their armour. It’s capable of downing a whole group if their weak or too close, and if you use it on any jeep it will net you and instant team wipe.

Perks

Equipment

You’ll definitely need Amped for this loadout as it increases you weapon swap and ready time, making the RPG-7 much easier to use. C4 is also key for this build as it’s very helpful for getting targets behind walls or cover in close-quarters battles.

Check out our other top Loadouts:
